Happy Full Moon in Virgo, my Star Sisters & Brothers!

To AstroSpeak or not to AstroSpeak, that is the question?

I’ve been challenged, in more ways than one, this month, and I’m sure you have, too! I begin this Full Moon newsletter as such, due to events that have unfolded in my life, pointing me in the direction of less AstroSpeak and more synthesis of interpretation for my readers & clients alike (for those who don’t know what AstroSpeak is, it’s saying things like “Venus is Square Jupiter while Neptune Opposes Mercury,” etc.). And, if you are like me and LOVE AstroSpeak, please sign up for either private lessons with me (we’ll create a program & rate that works for you!) and/or sign up for my weekend workshops at SpiritQuest Sedona Retreats in Sedona, AZ! There is one coming up in March and one in September this year:

I would love to hear from you, dear readers, on how these past couple of weeks have been treating you, so please post a comment below, if you feel so inspired! From my own personal experiences, as well as the life events I have witnessed from friends, family & colleagues, it feels as though a huge SHIFT is happening to us, both individually & collectively. As my friend likes to say, “SHIFT HAPPENS!” lol 😂. And indeed it is so, especially now, as it feels our individual soul timelines are shifting to let go of the old & make way for the new, whether we like it or not! We are constantly changing & evolving, and change is not familiar, nor is it comfortable, in the moment. There are cosmic alignments happening now that indicate we are undergoing deep, alchemical transformation, especially around letting go of our fears, as it pertains to the polarity of success and failure.

How do you view success & failure in your life? Is it a healthy dialogue between your heart & mind? Or do you constantly beat yourself up & tear yourself down, without the self-worth to pick yourself back up again?

The stars are calling us to flow between these two states of BEING and BECOMING, to simply surrender to the cyclical process we find ourselves in, at every given moment. Just as the Sabian Symbol below suggests, we must discover “an objective approach to the life force” through “the ups and downs of the emotional life.”

Before ending with the Sabian Symbol, I also want to leave you with one of my favorite Frank Herbert quotes from his classic Science Fiction novel, Dune (may it be a mantra for you in these times of cyclical chaos & peace):

“I must not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

Only I will remain.” (p. 10)

I always like to end with the Sabian Symbol for the Moon’s degree, which lands at 5 degrees 23 minutes of Virgo (we always round up with the Sabian Symbols, so this one will be at 6 degrees), as described in Dane Rudhyar’s book, An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolic Phases (pg. 153-4):

Phase 156 (Virgo 6 degrees): A MERRY-GO-ROUND.

Keynote: The first experience of the dynamic intensity of life processes and of the possibility of using them to reach a characteristic ego-satisfaction.

“Several features connected with the old fashioned type of merry-go-round should be understood in their deepest symbolism.

Two stages of experience are distinguishable: that in which a very young child is seated with his mother or nurse in an open carriage – the only experience is that of circular, perhaps at first dizzying, movement – and the stage of riding a horse (or perhaps some other animal) which often goes up and down as well as around. As the horse always represents the vital energy (later understood as libido or “psychic energy”), the merry-go-round at this stage symbolizes or prefigures the awareness of the cyclicity and the ups and downs of the emotional life.

In the fully developed merry-go-round the child on his horse is given some kind of handle to try and catch a ring hanging within his reach at a fixed point just outside the merry-go-round. If he succeeds in this rather difficult operation the child wins a prize or gets a free ride. The symbolism is sexual in its implications, but more generally it implies that any cyclic release of life energy provides us with the opportunity of demonstrating some kind of skill or mastery.

This is the first stage of the thirty-second sequence of five symbols. In its broadest sense we see here a characterization of what the developing consciousness (and at a certain level, the ‘disciple on the Path’) experiences:

AN OBJECTIVE APPROACH TO THE LIFE FORCE.”
